Connect your phone with the thermometer via Bluetooth, and you’re good to go.

As with all blue-tooth enabled thermometers, the limited range can be a problem.

8. Thermoworks Signals

Signals™ 4-Channel BBQ Alarm Thermometer with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® Wireless Technology

(Currently unavailable.)

Signals was the best decision I made in 2014 when it came to my BBQ grilling thermometer. The latest wireless meat thermometer from Thermoworks is also included. The quality and construction are nearly identical to Smoke (the most highly rated meat thermometer on market).

What I like

Built with quality and durability, splash-proof

This unit feels extremely rugged in my hand. And the protective case doesn’t feel like it’s going to damage easily, even if it drops. It is IP66 splash-proof.

Once you’ve connected to your meat connect to the internet and start cooking from wherever your internet connection is available.

Four probes to read more temperature

The signal includes four pro series probes. Three pro series probes can be used to monitor the temperature of your meat. While the 4th pro series covers your ambient temperature, these probes can read up to 572°F.

Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity to improve temperature access

The signal is equipped with both blue tooth and wireless connectivity, unlike many meat thermometers that require you to purchase an additional bridge to access WiFi connectivity. That way, you don’t have to get stuck with the limited Bluetooth range; switch to the WiFi connectivity.

The large LCD display and backlit feature allow for better temperature reading.

Signal solves the problem by using a large LCD display to read temperature values. I was able take my reading even in the sun. The backlit feature makes it possible to see your temperature even at night.

 What I don’t like

For those not tech-savvy, the app might be boring.

The signal app is perfectly functional and easy to use. The navigation is not as intuitive as I weber’s. But if you don’t care about flashy designs on the app, then no problem.

Alarm problem

The alarm is too loud for me. I can’t mute any alarms.

Slow charging

I was puzzled why it took so long to charge the transmitter

Thermowork is the best WiFi meat thermometer. It features excellent construction and excellent probe quality. And doesn’t care about the expensive price tag.

9. Fireboard Thermometer

(Currently unavailable.)

If you’re looking for a small, durable and easy to use WiFi smoker thermometer that integrates smart features, you may want to give this thermometer from fireboard a try.

Fireboard has six probes, which is a different model from the ones reviewed. This allows you to monitor large cooks better than any other models. Isn’t that great?

What I like

Six probes to monitor several cooks

If you’re planning a large party, the six probes allow you to monitor the temperature of several cooks on the go. You can monitor 6 different types of meat, or monitor 6 different chunks of meat at once. The probes also allow you to keep track of the pit temperature. Not forgetting, the probes are rated at up to 752°F.

Smart tech feature for temperature monitoring

The WiFi grilling thermometer has a smart LCD display which clearly displays the temperature, connectivity status and battery level. This wireless feature supports more connectivity than just phone connectivity. The WiFi or cloud connection allows you to connect your tablet or computer to the thermometer. Log in to fireboard app and get your meat smoker temperature.

What’s more? Fireboard integrates blue tooth connectivity into its thermometer, which is a first for other brands. And if WiFi isn’t available in your area, switch to the 100ft capacity Bluetooth connectivity.  Take your fireboard along to the next camping trip or beach.

What I don’t like

Waterproofing is not enough

Customers have complained about this most. Fireboard can withstand minimal splashing. But not more. But if you can avoid exposure to rain or cold, then you have the best WiFi thermometers available.

10. Thermoworks Smoke and Smoke Gateway

Thermoworks Smoke™ 2-Channel Alarm

(Currently unavailable.)

Thermoworks Smoke Gateway

(Currently unavailable.)

Thermoworks smoke thermometer has amazing features on its own. As with any product, it can get even better with additional features. And that’s where the smoke gateway comes in. It’s a WiFi bridge that connects your smoke detector to a WiFi signal, and then to your smartphone via an app.

What I like

Smoke gateway feature to increase temperature range

Smoke has a range between 300 and 300 feet. But what if your goal is to quickly grab groceries on the next street, while you cook?

The smoke gateway feature allows you to monitor your cooking anywhere and anytime from the convenience of your phone.

It’s easy to set it up

Initial thoughts were that this would require rocket-science knowledge. I was wrong. It is very simple to set up. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a newbie or not.

Splash-proof design

Thermowork smoke is built to withstand harsh conditions, such as splashes.

2 Probes to better temp reading

You can monitor up to two different meat temperatures on the move.

What I don’t like

Therworks smoke is required for Smoke Gateway to work.

I have many other wireless thermometers and would love them to work with the smoke gateway. Unfortunately, that’s impossible because it is designed only for Thermoworks smoke.

Wireless Meat Thermometer Buyer’s Guide

When looking for a  wireless WiFi thermometer you will want to buy the best in the market. I know you’re confused about what to consider. It’s normal. I was like you ten year ago.

Also Read:  Deer Summer Sausage Smoked in Electric Smoker Recipe

There are so many models and makes on the market that confusion is constant. That’s why I compiled this guide together to help you select the right WiFi bbq thermometer. Let’s begin with what you need to co sides before buying a meat thermometer.

What should you look for in a wireless meat thermometer?

  • Smart features

Smart technology is all around. They make life easier. Do you want to relax while grilling meat? No longer do you need to be close to your meat when grilling. Smart features and a WiFi meat thermometer are now available.

You can sync your cell phone with the wireless meat thermometer to check your temperature. It’s easy!

It notifies your phone when the meat has reached a specific temperature. That’s when you can now check your food status.

Another impressive smart feature is the alarm. The majority of the WiFi meat thermometers we reviewed have Alarm settings that can be connected to your smartphone. You will be notified when it reaches the cooking time.

  • Waterproof/durability feature

Your WiFi meat thermometer will be exposed to extreme conditions, both mild and severe. You can even use it in different types of weather. I’ll recommend going for a thermometer with a waterproof feature. That way, your  WiFi BBQ thermometer will be protected from rain or when it gets drenched in water during washing.

  • Probes

It’s a good idea if you have enough probes. But that depends on the size of the meat you’re cutting. If you usually cut small to medium-sized meat or you only cut meat for, let’s say, a family of four, then two probes are fine.

If you are grilling for a large crowd or hosting a large party, it is a good idea to get more than 2. The probe number should be determined by the size of the meat. This will allow you to accurately measure the meat’s temperature.

  • Accuracy

Many meat probes claimed that they could measure meat temperature with a margin error of over 0.7°, which is the industry standard. You should ignore WiFi meat thermometers as they will have a larger margin error.

That way, you will be confident you’re serving your audience with a properly cooked food.

How to Maintain Your Wireless Thermometer

Are you looking to purchase a wireless meat thermometer You might be thinking of buying one. You will want to protect your WiFi grilling thermometer to maintain a proper working condition if you don’t know where to start. That’s fine. I’m going to help you.  I hope you’ll find these tips helpful.

  • Take care of your thermometer

Make sure your WiFi smoker thermometers are always kept clean to ensure they work properly. Never immerse the thermometer in water to wash. Instead, use a clean cloth and add warm water to the detergent. You can use the mixture to wipe your thermometer. You should clean them gently. Before you store your thermometer, dry it with a dry towel.

  • Never exceed the recommended range

Each WiFi meat thermometer has a pre-set range of maximum temperature. Don’t expose the thermometer and its probes to a temperature higher than its range.  This is to ensure the probe’s safety and keep it in good working order.

  • Take care of your thermometer

This is a critical part. This is a crucial part.

Poor storage culture is responsible for 85% of probes being damaged. When storing or using the probe or thermometer, do not crush them.

  • Always follow instructions

All wireless meat thermometers are different. It doesn’t matter whether you have the knowledge and experience of a WiFi thermometer. Different thermometers have different care instructions. Make sure you take the time to read and understand your thermometer’s care and usage instructions. You can get that by reading the user manual that is tailored to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Wait for the thermometer to read. Does it read 32° F or 0° C? Then it’s accurate.

How does a meat thermometer get cleaned?

To keep your thermometer clean and sanitized, wash it with warm soapy water and dry it off.
