8 BEST Indoor Stair Lights

Sometimes, when you need to walk down a dark hallway or traverse the dangers of stairs, you’ll walk into the wall, hit your knee, and stub your toe. That’s no fun when all you want to do is get back to the safety and comfort of your bed.

Indoor stair lights are a great way to lighten the path. Indoor starlights are a great way to keep you from falling while you walk in the dark.

We tested the best indoor stairs lights and selected the top 8, plus 2 honorable mentions.

How to Choose the Best Indoor Stair Lights

Indoor starlights can bring a nighttime ambiance to your home and illuminate your path in the dark.

Brightness

Without the proper brightness (measured by lumens) a stair light doesn’t do you much good. We wanted bright lights that would keep your path to the bathroom bright.

Now, a lot of the lights may have varying brightness levels to allow you to choose what works for you, but all have quality lighting to ensure you don’t step on your dog while you’re rushing back to bed.

Energy Efficiency

Stair lights are small and shouldn’t add to your utility bill.

So, we looked for the stair lights that would last the longest, whether they were battery operated or hooked up to a J Box, and wouldn’t take up much energy.

We looked for lights with a lower voltage but more lumens.

Aesthetic

We also wanted to find lights that had a sense of style and won’t clash with your home decor and walls.

While you want to see your path lit up, lights can draw a lot more attention. So we searched for stair lights that looked nice and could be matched with different styles, colors, or textures within your home.

These lights are the perfect combination of style, affordability, and brightness. The cordless power option was the most convenient and the lights were very easy to install.

How to choose the best stair lights for your home

The best stair lights for your home will depend on the style, power source, color, and capabilities that you choose.

Installation and Power Source

Because they are both interrelated, we place them together. It is much easier to install a battery-operated light than if they are connected to a junction box.

Most of the battery-operated, stair lights are rechargeable. Sticky pads are also included with the batteries so that you can stick them to the wall.

If you’re looking for an easy install battery-operated stair light we recommend Mr. Beams, Innofox, or the Amir.

A stair light that is AC- or power cord-powered While you can expect to take longer to install and work, the lights are brighter, last more, and are more weather-resistant.

In this instance, we suggest something along the lines of the Oswin or the Leonlite.

Aesthetic

It is important to be stylish at home. This is where you spend most of your time.

If you want a more elegant and sophisticated look, we recommend something along the lines of Ciara or Leonlite.

These lights will fit flusher into your stairs or wall. The Zonk protrudes from the wall for a bolder look. We find this to be very stylish.

Extra Features

We recommend that you consider whether you want more from your light. Do you want dimmers for your lights?

In such cases, we recommend the Leonlite or Oswin.

The Innofox or Zisuyu are great options if you’re looking for a light with motion sensors.

Honorable Mentions

1. Foyoconven Motion Sensor Indoor Light – Considered for Best Energy-Efficient Option

This light is great for stairs and as a nightlight.

The best thing about this light is its USB rechargeability.

Once it’s recharged the power cycle will last for about 1000 activations of the motion sensor. This light has a full circle radius, which we also like.

2. LEONLITE LED Step Lights – Considered for Best Luxury Option

Another Leonlite that didn’t make the list, but we wanted to mention. This light is on the pricier side, but in terms of style and brightness, we believe it’s worth the investment.

This is a great product for outdoor use with an IP65 rating.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
